The Job That You Want
It is critical that any position that you accept fits your needs, values, interests and abilities.
Job offers are often accepted without proper scrutiny. If you have a low tolerance for risk, a job based on commission will certainly provoke anxiety. If being near your family is important, relocation could be an issue. If you are adventurous, a job involving frequent travel could be exciting. Unless you have spent time reflecting on your needs and values, it will be difficult to evaluate any job offer that you receive.
If you are offered a job and are uncertain about whether to accept it, ask if you can think about it overnight. This will give you time to reflect on what you are seeking, and what the position has to offer. It will also allow you to consult with family and friends.
