Reflecting on Your Interview

After each interview, write down the names and titles of all of the interviewers, your impressions of the interview, the types of questions asked and anything new that you learned.

If you are interviewing for a number of positions, recording these key details will help you to keep employers and circumstances clearly defined in your mind. If you are offered several positions, it will also allow you to compare organisations.

It is important to be brutally honest with yourself when reflecting on the interview. What went well? What went badly? Did you prepare sufficiently? Were you able to answer each of the interviewer's questions confidently and succinctly, but with sufficient detail? Might you have answered any questions differently? If so, how? Are there others areas in which you need to improve?
