Introduction

Congratulations! You have successfully navigated your way through the application process and been offered a job! In your excitement, don't forget that you don't have to accept the position as soon as it is offered to you. Take some time to critically evaluate the offer.

Does it fit in with your interests, abilities and career goals? Is this job really what you want? While, as a new graduate, you are not in a strong position to negotiate on salary, benefits and conditions (you'll have to wait until you have a bit more experience!), there may be scope for graduates with special needs, unique qualifications or expertise to negotiate the terms of their employment so that it fits more clearly with their requirements.
