The Middle (part 3)

As a general rule of thumb, try not to speak for longer than two minutes at a time during an interview.

Be aware of the interviewer's body language. If they look bored or start reading the next question on their list, draw your answer to a close.

If the interview lacks energy, lean forward in your chair and ask some questions that can't be answered with just a "yes" or a "no". For example, you could ask “What would my priorities be from the list of duties I have here?”

If there is more than one interviewer, direct most of your answer to the person who asked the question, but occasionally include the rest of the panel by glancing in their direction.

If you don’t understand a question, don't be frightened to seek clarification. If you can’t think of a suitable answer to a question, ask if you can return to it later.
