What to Wear

As a general rule, you should dress for an interview as if you were already employed in that position.

This approach allows you to vary your outfit if you are applying for a position where creativity, individuality or flamboyance might be highly valued.

If in doubt, however, play safe and dress conservatively. For men, this means a suit, preferably dark blue, dark grey or black. Ties and socks should be conservative. Women should avoid revealing or skin-tight clothes, visible bra-straps and over-the-top make-up (now is not the time to try out the latest trends!), and should wear pantihose if wearing a skirt. It is important to be able to walk confidently in your shoes. Remember the deodorant (!), but avoid overdoing the perfume or aftershave.
