Module 1 - Resume Express

Unit 4: Putting Together a Resume

This unit will help you combine the information you know about yourself, with the information about the job, to prepare your resume. At the end of the unit, you will have a thorough knowledge of how to structure and format your resume and what content you should include.

Always keep your target job or employer in mind.  Ask yourself, if I were the employer, would I interview this person?  Unless the answer is an unqualified YES, you still have work to do.

Proofread the final product for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and typographical errors.  Have an independent, detail-minded person proofread for errors you might have missed.

Start with a first draft. Begin the process with the knowledge that a top-notch resume is rarely written the first time.  Expect to do several revisions.
