This Student Internship Program is designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students who are seeking practical legal experience aligned with their course requirements and career goals.
The program combines hands on work experience with structured learning and close supervision. Alongside day to day legal tasks, interns participate in a learning focused program that provides insight into how a law firm operates. Interns gain practical skills and confidence while being supported in a culturally respectful and inclusive workplace.
No prior legal work experience is required, only a willingness to learn and get involved.
Duration
3 weeks (full time).
Who can apply
Current law students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Location
Hive Legal’s office is based in Melbourne. Recruitment is Australia wide, with remote work options available for candidates outside Melbourne’s CBD, including those in rural Victoria and interstate.
Intakes
The 2026 Student Internship Program will run from Monday, 6 July 2026 to Friday, 24 July 2026.
Payment
This is a paid internship. Interns are paid in accordance with the Legal Services Award.
