According to a recent survey people are now looking towards shaping their careers with only 20% of people indicating that salary was the main reason for switching jobs.

Career progression is more influential in an employee's decision to leave a job as opposed to a larger pay packet. The recent survey found that 45% of Australian respondents change jobs for this reason.

The survey also found that 19% of respondents leave jobs because of geographical reasons and 14% stated that management style was a contributing factor.

It would appear as though people are now looking at their careers from a long term perspective in order to get the most out of them.
