The most recent Hays forecast shows that there has been an increase in the number of mature age and international applicants employed as a solution to the current skills shortage.
However, the applicant shortage has led many to assume that they will receive large salary increases by either current employers to retain their skills or from new employers to attract them to a new role.
Hays senior regional manager Graham Doyle warns that employees should realistically compare their experience to their expected salary.
