About the program

The Vision Australia Career Start Graduate Program is designed to provide graduates who are blind or have low vision a kick start into their career through a fully funded and meaningful 12 month workplace opportunity. Over the 12month period graduates will develop the general skills of how to operate in a professional workplace, develop a network of contacts and mentors and put their qualifications into practice.

Beyond the 12 months, support is provided to help graduates leverage their learnings to find employment external to the organisation. Graduates are provided a senior mentor to support them through any challenges they face throughout the program and also discuss future career prospects.The 12 month Career Start program is made up of a 9 month paid placement within Vision Australia and a 3 month paid placement with an external employer.
