The Program is available for students who are undertaking STEM, Finance, Commercial and Law University degrees and would like a career in Construction and Engineering.
During your cadetship, you will experience a variety of disciplines and projects that you will be rotated through. We want you to understand the full breadth of what Downer offers to our clients and the industry.
CADETSHIP OUTLINE:
- Program Duration:
The program lasts for the same duration as your university degree in which you are accepted into. It is envisaged that the average cadetship tenure is 3-4 years.
You will be required to be available to work full-time between November through to February of each year of the cadetship.
Each summer, you will be rotated to a new discipline or opportunity which is outlined at the start of your cadetship program.To ensure you gain the most from the program, you can expect:
•Offered rotations to ensure you are exposed to a variety of roles and the experience you need to become a well-rounded professional;
•Receive feedback on your performance at the end of each rotation so you can focus on those aspects for development
•At the start of each rotation, a work program will be developed to ensure you are meeting the learning objectives throughout your cadet program
•Have access to experienced professionals in the industry who can help you determine the future of your career - Payment:
You will be employed on a casual basis.
Current remuneration is based upon a daily rate. This is to prepare cadets for the transition to earning a salary, budgeting and maintaining a work/life balance - Cadet Stipend:
An amount of $1,000 gross per semester to a maximum of two (2) semesters per year will be claimable upon the successful completion of each academic year.
As part of your Cadetship you are committing to completing your undergraduate degree in the determined timeframe provided by the University
POST CADETSHIP:
Upon successful completion of your undergraduate degree, Downer may offer you full time employement. An offer will be dependent on available position and the prevailing economic climate at the time.
