Graduate employment opportunities have grown over recent years according to Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) Graduate Destination Survey statistics. Within four months of completing their studies, more than 80% of new bachelor degree graduates who wanted full time employment had found it. The survey also showed that graduate starting salaries had increased by $2000 in 12 months, and the gap between male and female starting salaries had narrowed. Engineering graduates aged under 25 had a median starting salary of $44 000, with Law graduates at $40 000 and Economics and Business at $37 000. GCA's Graduate Outlook Survey also showed that more than 90% of graduate recruiters planned to either increase or retain their level of graduate recruitment in 2006.
