The Metro Trains Scratch Space Challenge 

 a Paddl Games initiative will be held at Metro Trains Melbourne on Wednesday 06 September, 8.30am - 1.30pm.

Using Design thinking techniques, students and recent graduates, in teams, will work alongside Metro Trains employees and industry experts to pitch creative and innovative ideas that tackle real and current issues that are impacting metropolitan rail users in Victoria.

This is a unique opportunity for students and graduates to:
- Learn and apply design thinking and collaborative problem solving

- Gain invaluable insights and industry experience

- Connect with potential hiring managers

- Book one-on-one career advice sessions with Metro Trains Melbourne HR staff

- Test out the latest tech being used in the rail industry

Plus there are awesome prizes to be won.

We are looking for candidates with a background or interest in the following areas:

- Design (but they must also be able to draw by hand) Illustrators preferred as they will need to be able to illustrate their team's ideas on a white board as part of their pitch)

- Engineering - all disciplines

- Cyber security, computer science, systems, mechatronics, robotics

- Psychology, behavioural sciences

- Logistics, supply chain, transport

- Data analysis, data sciences

- iOT, Drones, VR

- Project Management, leadership, organisational skills, event management

The Metro Trains Scratch Space Challenge is the closing event in the Digital Innovation Festival Victoria - a Festival that brings together and promotes digital, innovation and technology events across Victoria. The Honourable Philip Dalidakis, MP (Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation & Trade) will launch the Metro Trains Scratch Space Challenge and officially celebrate the last day of the Digital Innovation Festival for 2017.
