The Chartered Accountants Career Conference has been designed to provide first, second and third year accounting students with the information they need to enter the profession.
The Conference is a two day event with the first day focusing on how to obtain employment however, it will also focus on interview techniques, business etiquette and what employers are seeking in job applications. It will also provide a visionary view of where the profession is headed and career outlooks for the future.
On the second day, students will have the opportunity to participate in a first time event whereby they'll spend a day at the firm of their choice. It provides a chance to meet and impress employers and talk directly with those who can help to secure a job. It is also a time to apply for the Chartered Accountants Vacation Employment Program. This is paid work and can be throughout the 10-12 weeks of the summer break.
From all reports it will be a very lively and interactive day.
