The 2005 Australian Computer Society survey, conducted by APESMA in April, found that average salaries paid to ICT employee professional rose by 3.8% over the twelve months to the end of April. Salaries in the private sector rose 4% compared with 3.6% in the public sector. Salaries rose less in the smaller firms compared with large firms.
There was also an improvement in demand for employer goods and services. The strongest levels of demand was in the mining and health sectors.
