The flaws in interpersonal skills are commonly noticed at the recruitment stage but are overlooked in favour of technical expertise.
A three year study of 5247 recruitment managers across 312 organisations looked at over 20,000 employees. They found that 46% of eployes failed within 18 months of commencement and only 195 will achieve the highest level of success. Only 11% of those who fail, do so because they lack th etechnical skills.
The most startling fact is that 82% of recruiters say that in hindsight the candidate interviews revealed subtle hints about what followed.
