Gen Y candidates are the most marketing-savvy, and do a lot of research into companies to see if they have the sort of values they are looking for in an employer. Gen Y candidates also know that they are in a buyer's market with severe skills shortages that they can pick and choose their employer.

Employers need to really sell what the job is and the organisation can offer to the employee. Offering internships can be attractive as well as part-time work while studying. In particular, it is really importnat not to make promises that you can't keep!
