Forty-three per cent of the people in accounting are women but only 29% of the ICAA's total membership are women. However, 48% of those undertaking the qualification are women.
Firms need to do more to allow their female staff flexibility in their working arrangements while they have children and men in the firms need to be more pro-active. Men need to accept that gender bias exists in their firms and to work hard to overcome this.
